1. System requirements
This script only works in Adobe Photoshop versions CS2 and later. It does not work in Photoshop Elements!
2. Downloading
PageSplitter is free and released under the GNU General Public License.
To download, please visit the repository.
Right-click on the script you like (there are Swedish, English and German verions) and use “Save as” or “Download linked file as” to save the script onto your hard drive.
3a. Installing under Windows
Move PageSplitter.jsx to your Photoshop scripts folder. This folder has different names depending on your Photoshop version and what language you are using. For instance, an ordinary English Photoshop installation under Windows would use
- C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Scripts\
but in a Swedish Photoshop it may be
- C:\Program\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Förinställningar\Skript\
Important: restart Photoshop before using PageSplitter!
3b. Installing on Mac OS X
Move PageSplitter.jsx to your Photoshop Scripts folder. This folder has different names depending on your Photoshop version and what language you are using. For instance, an ordinary English Photoshop installation on a Mac would use
- /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Presets/Scripts/
but in a Swedish Photoshop it may be
- /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Förinställningar/Skript/
Important: restart Photoshop before using PageSplitter!
4. Using PageSplitter
To start the PageSplitter script, simply choose File > Scripts > PageSplitter in Photoshop, as shown in the picture on the right.
If you have any open documents, PageSplitter will ask you to close them. Just answer “No” if you want to cancel and re-run the script later when you have finished working on your open document(s). (Since Photoshop can’t have two documents open of the same file, strange things may happen if one of your page spreads is already open as a document when the script is run.)
